Mark Edgar

APA Sports and Exercise Physiotherapist

Mark is one of the most experienced Sports Physiotherapists working here in the Sutherland Shire. He graduated from The Queens College, Glasgow, Scotland in 1990 before immigrating to Sydney in 1992.

Mark has exclusively worked in private practice since; and has widespread sports experience having worked across a range of sports at various World Championships, World Masters Games, International, National and State competitions, as well as the Sydney 2000 Olympic Games. He has completed his Masters Degree in Sports Physiotherapy through La Trobe University, Melbourne. Mark has been officially recognised by the Australian Physiotherapy Association as a Sports Physiotherapist.

Mark has been consultant Physiotherapist to Endeavour Sports High School for nearly 20 years and has witnessed pupils moving on to becoming Olympic athletes, Test cricketers, professional Soccer, Rugby League and Union players. He is also heavily involved in rugby union having worked with the Australian Womens 7s team, Emerging NSW Waratahs and Australian Rugby Union Academy, as well as over a decade as Head Physiotherapist to Southern Districts Rugby Club. .

 

Dana Galler-Tough

APA Physiotherapist

M.Sc (Physio), B.Sc (Kinesiology)

Dana graduated from the University of Ottawa with a Masters of Physiotherapy in 2022. She completed her Honours Bachelor of Science degree in Kinesiology at Queen’s Univeristy in Kingston, Ontario, Canada.

Dana’s academic background has given her a solid foundation for exercise prescription, and this is reflected in her practice. She uses a combination of patient education, manual therapy techniques, dry needling and exercise prescription to help patients achieve their goals. Dana encourages patients to learn how to self-manage their conditions with the tools they gain through their rehab journey.

Dana has experience working with a variety of orthopaedic and neurological conditions. She is particularly interested in lower limb, shoulder and lower back injuries. Dana also has an interest in working with athletes and recently spent two seasons working with the Uni-Norths Owls Rugby Club in Canberra.

In her free time, Dana enjoys going to the gym, running, hiking and downhill skiing. She is also learning to play rugby union with the women’s rugby union team at Southern Districts Rugby Club.

Kim Johnson

Massage Therapist

Kim is a qualified Remedial Massage therapist with a huge amount of experience with both general population and elite sport. Kim is currently the in-house therapist for Australian Rugby 7s helping them to prepare for the upcoming Olympics. She is also in-house therapist for the Cronulla Sharks, South Sydney, Rabbitohs, Queensland State of Origin and Southern Districts Rugby Union. Australia, NZ, Samoa and Fiji NRL teams are also massaged by Kim. We are very lucky to have someone of Kim’s experience working out of Southern Districts Sports Physiotherapy.
